WSET Wine Courses & Training
The Wine and Spirit Education trust was founded in the UK in 1969 to provide high quality education and training in wines and spirits. Since then WSET has grown into the foremost international body in the field of wines and spirits education, with a suite of sought-after qualifications.
Although based in London, there are around 400 centres in 50 countries and Riviera Yacht Support was the first one to become an Approved Program Provider on the Riviera.
Currently we offer 2 levels;
WSET Level 2
The Intermediate Certificate qualification is intended for those aspiring to a Chief Steward/ess position or anyone who wishes to deepen their knowledge of wine and other alcoholic beverages. It is an intensive course lasting three days. The syllabus includes topics such as the key wine-producing areas of the world, grape varieties, label terminology, professional tasting of a large selection of international quality wines and food and wine matching.
Price; 650,00€ including study pack and exam fee
Dates; 27-29th of September 2010 and 20-22nd of October.
Registration is needed two weeks prior to course start.
WSET Level 3
Advanced Certificate lasts 5 days and it is a very intense, informative in-depth wine course. It is strongly recommended to have done the Intermediate before or to have an equal level of experience and knowledge. During the 5 days we will taste 100 wines, go through wine making and viticulture, classification systems, wine regions and grape varieties and much more. This course really gives you good base in the world of wine and you will be able to advice and recommend your clients with great confidence.
